Sri Rama Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Ramachandra, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, born to King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya of Ayodhya. Lord Rama's life story is told in the epic Ramayana by Sage Valmiki. He is known as Maryada-purushottama — the perfect embodiment of righteousness, duty, and virtue.
