Select Your Seva
Historical Background
Lord Narasimhadeva appeared from a palace pillar to save His five-year-old devotee Prahlada Maharaja from his demoniac father, Hiranyakashipu. The Lord's form as half-man, half-lion was uniquely designed to fulfill Hiranyakashipu's benedictions while still ending his reign of terror. This pastime illustrates the Lord's unlimited creative power to protect His devotees.
Spiritual Significance
Lord Narasimha is known as the great protector of devotees and remover of obstacles. He appeared at twilight (neither day nor night), on a threshold (neither inside nor outside), using His fingernails (no weapons), as neither man nor animal.
Blessings & Benefits
Worshipping Lord Narasimha removes all obstacles on the spiritual path. Sponsoring the abhishekam, special lamps, and offerings on this day invokes His fierce protection and destroys all negativity and obstacles in one's life.
