A contrast between conventional birthday parties and how devotees celebrate this day, wishing: "May you never take birth again."
The Rare Human Form of Life
Out of 8,400,000 species of life, only 400,000 are human. This is only 5% of all species. Human life is extremely rare. Of these, very few possess a developed consciousness to understand higher spiritual principles, and even fewer know Krishna in truth (as confirmed in Bhagavad-gita 7.3).
Devotees celebrate birthdays not with material partying, but by having kirtan, Krishna Katha, and distributing prasadam, focusing on the goal of making this our last birth in this material world.

Purpose and Utilization of the Human Form
The Vedanta Sutra starts with: Athato brahma jijnasa — "Now, having achieved the human form of life, inquire about the Absolute Truth." If one does not inquire into this, his life is no better than that of an animal. To prepare our consciousness, we must follow the four regulative principles and practice Bhakti yoga, chanting the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra:
Chanting is the only and most efficient way of achieving the goal of life in this age of Kali.
