Kripa Murthi prahu was sentenced to death in 1999. While in Taiping prison, he seriously took up Krishna consciousness. He received initiation from HH Jayapataka Swami.

Miraculous Pardon on Vyasapuja Day
Miraculously, Kripa Murthi received a pardon from the Sultan of Perak on Srila Prabhupada's Vyasapuja day in 2014, downgrading his capital punishment to life imprisonment. A Punjabi officer remarked: "He was 99.999% confirmed to be hanged, but only his God helped him." The mercy of Srila Prabhupada and his spiritual master surely saved his life.
